About me

I'm Patricia García, ceramicist in Blanc.

I enjoy creating timeless pieces, with clean and organic lines, using neutral tones to inspire the senses. My pieces are influenced by the minimalist aesthetic and my love for craftsmanship and design. My work aims to highlight the beauty of simplicity and the character of handmade objects by creating pieces that bring calm to their settings.

I am enthralled by details, which are what; in fact, give personality to each handmade piece. Each piece is a unique expression made by me, using both wheelthrowing and modeling techniques. It is a slow process in which natural production times are respected: designing, shaping, the drying process, firing, glazing ... it may take several weeks of work from start to finish.

Small imperfections are part of the beauty of handmade items. No two pieces are exactly the same, and that in turn makes them unique and special. I try to promote an environmentally conscious lifestyle. I recycle all excess clay to reuse it and minimize waste as I believe that it's an important part of the creative process.

Soy Patricia García, ceramista de Blanc.

Me gusta crear piezas atemporales, de líneas limpias y orgánicas, en tonos neutros, que puedan inspirar a los sentidos. Mis piezas están influenciadas por la estética minimalista y mi amor por la artesanía y el diseño.
Mi trabajo tiene como objetivo destacar la belleza de lo simple, el carácter de los objetos que se hacen a mano, creando así piezas que aporten calma a sus entornos.
Me llaman la atención los detalles, la historia que da personalidad a las piezas artesanales. Y es que cada pieza es una expresión única y está hecha cuidadosamente por mi, utilizando técnicas de modelado y el torno. Es un proceso lento. Se respetan los tiempos naturales de producción: diseñar, darle forma, el proceso de secado, hornear, esmaltar… puede llevar semanas de trabajo.
Las pequeñas imperfecciones forman parte de la belleza de los artículos hechos a mano. No hay dos piezas exactamente iguales, y eso las hace especiales.
Trato de fomentar un estilo de vida consciente con el medio ambiente. Reciclo toda la arcilla para volver a usarla e intento minimizar el desperdicio ya que creo que es una parte importante del proceso creativo.
